Psychologist-Substance Abuse

Job Description
We are seeking ambitious candidates with strong clinical, interpersonal, and organizational skills for a psychologist position at the Zucker Hillside Hospital Addiction Recovery Services -MMTP program, of Northwell Health.
Clinical duties:
Perform as a member of a multidisciplinary team including other mental health professionals, social workers, psychiatrists, and physicians and nurses to assist clients in managing their co-occurring mental health symptoms and chemical dependency symptoms in early recovery.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and perform psychological testing with clients leading to clinical diagnoses and the development of comprehensive and individualized treatment plans.
Implement recovery plans that will appropriately meet the needs of individual clients, utilizing program, agency, and community resources.
Utilize evidence based best practices and culturally appropriate interventions while facilitating individual, group and family psychotherapy.
Develop, organize, and lead evidenced based psychotherapy groups
Manage all aspects of the addiction treatment services to maintain OASAS, JCAHO, and Hospital regulatory compliance
Work in partnership with on campus ZHH programs, as well as outside medical and/or psychiatric care providers and community based agencies.
Coordination with mandated referral agencies as needed.
Offer training and supervision to psychology trainees and externs as well as interns of other clinical disciplines
Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited college or university, required.
Currently licensed to practice Psychology in the State of New York. (Non-clinical psychologists may qualify for this position if educational training and requirements are comparable.)
Clinical Training and experience working with substance abuse and dual-diagnosis
Experience working in an outpatient setting
Experience with evidence based treatments

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
